How was nuclear war avoided?

The nuclear war has been avoided.
The United States took the photograph of Soviet Union and they found some missiles equipment, the United States was scared, the president of the United States "John F. Kennedy" asked for everyone's opinions and suggestions, he doesn't want to start the war, he then decides to take more pictures to see clearer.

The United States has been telling the Soviet Union to remove the missiles and promise that they won't attack Cuba. Soviet Union first agree but then they reject and they thought the United States would start the war. Robert F. Kennedy then go to Soviet Union to try to solve problems. Soviet Union asked them to remove the missiles in Turkey and they will remove the missiles in Cuba. Robert F. Kennedy didn't agree at the first time but then he agrees and told Soviet Union to make the decision tomorrow and they can't public their deal.

They made the deal, right after they talked, Soviet Union wrote a letter and tell them they agree with it, the letter had been sent to the United States immediately, so the war had been avoided.

The Atomic Bomb

The bomb cost about $2 billion spent on its development, it killed 100,000 people in Tokyo.
The Atomic bombing was an unwise idea. I'm pretty sure there are so many other ways to solve the problems. The atomic bomb killed thousands and thousands of people, it costs billions of money, it wasted human resources, it destroyed countries and land, it polluted the air and it produces poison gases which make people ill and die.

I think they should just deal with the problems, sign a contract or treaty, and just do what it said, that would've solve more problems, and it won't hurts that many people.

TED talk reflection

How does the movie relate to scientific method?

In science method, the first step we come up will be the hypothesis, then we test to see if we get it right, and then we take experiment and experienced it again and again until it is perfect.

The Benjamin Button TED talk, they made Benjamin's head up by computer, before I watched this Benjamin Button TED talk, I thought that they might take different people to act out Benjamin in different ages, that would cost a lot of people. So they created out the head of Benjamin, and the producer tried out with many different technology. They used computer to tried out all the possibilities Brat Pitt's face could be. Even small details so that they can make out the exactly things they want.

This is how they used the science methods, how they proved. They had their goals, they came out with the hypothesis first then they teat and experiences teach where're the mistakes and problems so they can solved it and they tried it again and again until they make it right and find the result.

Submarine SMASH Day Reflection

We made periscope for today's SMASH DAY. Basically, our mission was to make the periscope and there were 7 items in the box, we had to find out what they are. The supplies we had was a piece of cardboard, about 10 pieces of papers, 4 mirrors and tape was unlimited.

I think we only modified our design about 4 or 5 times. We tried to see if we can see anything from by the reflection of mirrors and we modified it when we can't see anything. We actually don't really know what to do and we nearly quit on the half way. We listened to one another's opinions and they we modified it.

I would suggest not to put too much effort on whether you fold the papers wider or narrower because basically you will see the same reflection from the mirror. Use cardboard wisely because it helped a lot.
